Plains Park in Milford Closed Until Further Notice
The park will reopen once new grass grows on the field.
Plains Park on Cedar Street in Milford is currently closed for renovations, according to Milford officials.
Major areas of the park are expected to be re-loamed and re-seeded this week, and the site will be closed to allow the work to resume and for new grass to grow, according to the announcement.
"Because Plains Park was a former landfill, it was understood that within 10 years, settlement issues would occur," an announcement on the town website reads. "This differential settlement will now be remediated by loaming and seeding the affected areas."

The Park Commissioners are set to monitor the site and will open the park as the new grass is established, according to officials.
