Police Log: Fallen Tree Branch Disrupts Traffic on Rte. 16

Tuesday, April 15
At 1:07 a.m., Milford Police arrested Vivek Patel, 28, of Foxboro on a warrant after he arrived at the Milford Police Department to bail out two prisoners in custody.
At 7:22 a.m., police responded to the area of Spruce and Congress streets on a report of a single-car accident involving a woman and child. A police was damaged during the accident; no injuries were reported.

At 9:54 a.m., police received a report that a 2-year-old had been walking in a yard in their pajamas on Temple Street. Police responded and spoke with a caretaker, who said the child had been playing in the finished basement of the property when an older child must have unbolted the door. The child was gone for about 15-20 minutes, according to police records.
At 1:11 p.m., police issued a summons to a Milford man for assault with a dangerous weapon after an individual walked into the Milford Police Department to report that the had been harassed and the man had thrown a rock at his window.

At 2:59 p.m., police received a report from a caller that an 8-year-old boy was by himself in the area of North Bow Street when he asked the caller for a ride. Police responded to the area and found that the child was with his mother and that all seemed well. Police determined the boy had been scared when the rain and wind picked up in the area.
At 3:50 p.m., police responded to the area of Zain Circle and East Main Street on a report that a tree branch had fallen in the roadway. Police found the tree in the area of Rte. 16, with multiple vehicles having to drive around it; the Milford Highway Department was contacted to remove the branch.
