POLL: Are You CPR Ready?
The Boston Athletic Association recently announced it will offer free CPR training to its runners and runner family members at the expo before the Boston Marathon, in the hopes that more people with the life-saving skill will line the marathon route.

Organizers of the 2012 Boston Marathon will offer free training in CPR to as many as 1,000 people who are attending the Boston Marathon expo this year, the weekend before the race.
The goal is to have more people with the life-saving skill along the 26.2-mile route, from Hopkinton to Boston.
Medical research has shown that people stand a better chance of surviving sudden cardiac failure if they have access to a bystander who knows and uses CPR. In recent years, more emphasis has been placed on chest compressions, rather than mouth-to-mouth.
