Showcase Pro Wrestling hosts a Wrestling with Literacy event on National Literacy Day

Woonsocket based Showcase Pro Wrestling returns home on Friday September 8th by presenting an All-star card of wrestling at the SPW Arena and Training center located at 126 Main Street Woonsocket. The bell time on Friday September 8 is 7:47 pm
On September 8th SPW will be sponsoring a "Wrestling with Literacy" book collection at the arena. International Literacy Day is celebrated annually on September 8 by the International Literacy Association (ILA) and is designed to focus attention on literacy issues. ILA estimates that 780 million adults, nearly two-thirds of whom are women, do not know how to read and write. They also estimate that 94-115 million children worldwide do not have access to education.
To help in the efforts of ILA Showcase Pro Wrestling will be collecting gently used books at our September 8th event in Woonsocket. All books collected will be donated to local libraries, in addition any person who brings a gently used book will get $1 off the admission price to the event. Plus they will be entered into a drawing held that night to receive two tickets to a future SPW event.
