State Highlighting Milford Schools As IT Leader
The state is using Milford schools as an example to show educators from other communities the success story of IT improvement in the class.

MILFORD, MA—Only a couple of years ago, Superintendent of Schools Kevin McIntyre pointed out at a recent Milford School Committee meeting that the town's schools IT was anything but revolutionary.
Now, the school system is being held up by a state organization as an example of which others public schools should aspire, with Mass Q (XX?) highlighting Milford in a tour of its schools on Feb. 28.
"It's kind of fantastic, if you've look at where we've come in the last couple years," McIntyre told the school committee, "and we're being held up as an example of the state to come and look at it. We've come a long way in a very, very short time, to the point where a couple of years ago we had a very unreliable infrastructure and now we have a classier network that supports Chromebooks.

Educators from across the state will attend the learning tour at the Milford schools to learn about the three-year Chromebook learning plan and other technology implementations.
"We strongly believe that technology will enhance the scope of teaching and learning," said McIntyre, "and our goal is to ensure all educators and students receive equitable access to technology, and be integrated across instruction."

The tour will encompass the Stacy Middle School, Woodland Elementary and the high school, to watch active learning in action, talk with administrators and teachers, view the vision plan, and see what Milford is doing with professional development, as well as the rolling out of the Chromebook initiative this year.
