State health officials urge residents to use EPA-approved repellents, wear long sleeves, and drain standing water. Older adults and people with chronic illnesses in Milton should be especially cautious until the first hard frost ends mosquito season.

• The State of Eviction Prevention Programs and Policies: 2026 Update (nlc.org) — Milton is highlighted for a locally funded eviction-prevention effort that pays rental and utility assistance to residents at risk of losing housing. A part-time social worker, supported by the Milton Residents Fund and local donors, coordinates three dedicated funds. This safety net helps neighbors avoid shutoffs or eviction even as federal COVID-era programs wind down nationwide.

• Johnson Collects Win No. 6 at Mass Women's Mid-Amateur Championship (massgolf.org) — Milton's Wollaston Golf Club just hosted a standout moment in state golf, as Shannon Johnson stormed back from six shots down to capture her sixth Massachusetts Women's Mid-Amateur title.
