Higgins Takes First Place in Division 3 Hurdles

Angie Higgins was Milton’s top finisher in the Division 3 Indoor Track Championships held at the Reggie Lewis Center on Friday, February 17. Higgins showed off her blazing speed in the 55 meters hurdles winning with a time of 8.64.

Her teammate Molly Dempsey was pushing her all the way finishing in third place. 

Ten minutes after the hurdles Higgins lined up for the finals in the 55 meters dash. Again her speed drove her down the turf finishing in third place with a time of 7.53.

Dempsey also took third place on the oval track in the 300 meter dash with a time of 42.79. 

All eyes will be on both these athletes next Sunday at the All State Meet to be held at the Reggie Lewis Center.

On the boys side individual honors went to Kareem Patterson, sixth place in the 55 meters dash, Justine Trafford, eigth place in the 300 meter dash, and Jamaal Grant, sixth place in the long jump.

The boys 4x400 team,  Phillip Janvier, Jamaal Grant, Adam Hanna, and Justin Trafford would also make the podium finishing in fourth place.

Out of 33 girl teams that competed Milton finished in fourth place. 

Girls 55 Meter Dash finishing 3^rd, Anggie Higgins, time of 7.53, 

300 Meter Dash finishing 3^rd, Molly Dempsey, time of 42.79, 

55 Meter Hurdles finsihing 1^st , Angie Higgins, time of  8.64 and finishing 3^rd , Molly Dempsey time of  8.75.

4x200 Meter Relay Team finishing 18^th , with a time of 1:56.38, Sammi Brennan, Abigail Gray, Chayna McDermott, and Latrese Kohlman.              

4x400 Meter Relay Team, finishing 13^th , with a time of 4:31.67, Claire Mahoney, Amy Maher, Serina Herron-Smith and Emma Pred Sosa                 

Girls High Jump finishing in 10^th place Molly Dempsey 5-00.00     

Out of 34 boys teams that competed Milton finished in 15^th place.

Boys 55 Meter Dash, finishing in 6^th Kareem Patterson, with a time of 6.87    

Boys 300 Meter Dash, finishing in 8^th Justin Trafford with a time of 37.28.    

Boys 600 Meter Run, finishing in 10^th  Phillip Janvier, with a time of 1:27.22.  

Boys 1000 Meter Run, finishing 17^th  Nick Savage with a time of 2:48.69  

Boys 1 Mile Run, 22nd John Maher with a time of 4:44.16  

Boys 2 Mile Run, finishing 24^th Nick Orlando with a time of 10:41.86  

Boys 4x200 Meter Relay, finishing 10^th , with a time of 1:37.62, Miles Holland, Chavinski Milcent, and Kareem Patterson.
