MIAA All State Championship

Bridgewater State University, Bridgewater, Mass, June 4, 2011- The MIAA held its annual All State Track and Field Meet at Bridgewater State University’s track facilities. Seventy-six teams from all over the state competed on this day.

 Milton High School would have three members of the girl’s track team, Olivia Beaulieu, Mairead Kiernan and Molly Dempsey who qualified the week earlier at the Division 3 Championship held at Oliver Ames High School.

 400 Meters High Hurdles

 Sophomore Molly Dempsey would win her heat in a time of 1:06.9. The overall winner was determined who had the fastest time in their heat. There were four separate heats. Dempsey would finish in 14th place for the event.

800 Meters Run

Senior Mairead Kiernan running in her last individual competition race for MHS would finish in 21st place with a time of 2:29.02.

100-Meter Hurdles

Senior Olivia Beaulieu, also running in her last individual competition race for MHS, would have a bit of bad luck after hitting one of her hurdles during the preliminary qualifying race. Beaulieu, who finished second in this event last week at Oliver Ames, would loose precious seconds and did not make the finals.

Congratulations to Milton’s finest and Head Coach Dale Snyder. Milton’s girl’s track team is scheduled for one more event before the season ends. The MSTCA Girls State Heptathlon to be held on June 6 and 7 at Notre Dame Academy in Hingham.
