Milton Loses to Natick in a Hearbreaker

Varsity Soccer Milton v Natick.

The Milton Wildcats (2-2) were host to the Red and Blue of Natick (1-2) on a brisk wet Thursday night at Brooks Field.

The Wildcats wasted little time and were on the scoreboard six minutes into the game 1-0 with a score by Joe Cardoso. Natick would return the favor and scored tying the game during the second half 1-1. With a little more than 20 minutes left Cardoso would score again giving the Wildcats the lead 2-1.

Natick would come right back tying the game with ten minutes left. The Wildcats would come close to scoring, but the Natick goalie was on his game keeping the Wildcats out of the net.

With 45 seconds left in the game the Red and Blue would get the ball by goal keeper Nate Breslin taking the lead 3-2. Milton would make a last second effort, but would fall short and Natick would secure the win.

"At this level of play - if you make a mistake you lose," said Milton coach Mike Madden. "This was a total disappointment I thought we played better. Like I have been telling the boys we are now at a good level. The team who makes the least mistakes wins the game. Twice we didn't clear the ball and they scored twice on us. They scored the last goal with 45 seconds left in the game. It was a heartbreaker for us."
