Newton North Tigers Defeat the Lady Wildcats 4-1

Girls Varsity Soccer

On a cloudy afternoon Milton's Lady Wildcats (1-4) varsity soccer team played host to the Carey Division leaders of Newton North (4-0-1).

After a very competitive first half Milton was up 1-0 over the Tigers of Newton North. But the Tigers would not be denied and would tie the game a few minutes into the second half. The Tigers continued to pressure the Wildcats keeping them in a defensive mode as they chipped away at the Milton goal. The Tigers would score three more goals and win the game 4-1.

"We were very disciplined and organized in the first half, we knew we had to be, but we couldn't sustain it in the second half," said Milton's Head Coach Brian Borde. "Once we gave up the first goal the dam opened. They (Newton North) started doing everything they couldn't do in the first half. Our weaknesses became evident and they exploited it. They are a very good team. We have to find a way to play a full 80 minutes."
