On Saturday morning the Wildcats finished the preseason with a football scrimmage against Bishop Feehan High School. Milton’s Head Coach Jim Bowes, with only a couple of weeks of practice, had a chance to evaluate his starting players under game conditions. He made a lot of substitutions of players trying to find the right combinations on both offense and defense.
One of the open positions this year is at quarterback. Sophomore Liam Collins and Junior Conor Regan are the contenders and showed their best game in hopes of winning the starting position.
Bowes has a couple of returning speedsters with Terry Walsh, Matt Lezama and Antonio Houston. Lezama is in good health after having to sit out the spring track season due to a plaguing leg injury. But Saturday, he showed no sign of injury as he sped to two touchdowns for the Wildcats.
