Couple Charged with Child Endangerment Pleads Not-Guilty
The Massachusetts couple that allegedly left two children unattended while they gambled in Connecticut were in court Tuesday.
The Milton man and Dedham woman who allegedly left two children unattended in a vehicle while they gambled in a Connecticut casino on June 10 both pled not guilty to charges of risk of injury to a child, second-degree endangerment and leaving a child unsupervised in a public place.
David Augustin, 34, of Brook Road in Milton and Edwine Louissaint, 33, of Presidents Way in Dedham appeared in New London Superior Court on Tuesday where they each registered pro forma not guilty pleas.
Augustin will be back in court on Friday, June 25, while Louissaint's next appearance is scheduled for July 13.

The couple was arrested earlier this month after two boys, a one and a half year old and a 10 year old, were left alone in their vehicle in the Grand Pequot VIP garage at Foxwoods Resort Casino, Mashantucket, CT.
Gambling records and video surveillance showed Augustin and Louissaint were gambling for over an hour while the children were in the vehicle.

Augustin was held on a $40,000 bond, while Louissaint was released after paying her $25,000 bond. The children were taken by Connecticut Department of Children and Families and turned over to Massachusetts DCF.
The incident is not the first brush with the law for Augustin who has a history of larceny charges in Massachusetts. In 2009, in the Dorcester Court alone, Augustin was charged with three counts of larceny over $250. The Brook Road resident had two cases of larceny by false pretense last year.
According to court documents, this incident is Augustin's first child endangerment arrest.
