Lynn man charged with passing bogus checks
Ione Cook, 28, of 501 Washington St., Apt. 312, Lynn was arraigned in Quincy District Court on charges of larceny over $250, uttering a false check, and possession of a counterfeit note. The case was continued to June 18. A judge released Cook on his own recognizance. The charges stem from an April 13, 2011 incident in Milton involving an investigation by State Police financial crimes investigators into a multi-jurisdictional counterfeit check cashing ring. Investigators said 76 checks totaling $92,000 were cashed between Jan. 17, 2011 and April 27, 2011 and were made payable to the Boston Shade Co.

Swen G. Daniels, 27, of 656 Chatham West Drive, Brockton failed to show at an arraignment in Quincy District Court on charges of driving after license suspension and a state highway traffic violation. A judge issued an arrest warrant. The charges stem from a Aug. 28, 2011 incident in Milton at 3:18 p.m. when state police responded to a report of a multiple motor vehicle accident on Unquity Road.
