The cabin was built by Mary Bowditch Forbes in 1923 on the grounds of the Forbes House. She started collecting Abraham Lincoln memorabilia after the 100th anniversary of the 16th president's birth in 1909.
The cabin was recently partially rebuilt and is the favorite attraction of Milton students when they visit the Forbes House Museum on Adams Street, Executive Director Robin Tagliaferri said.
"Every young person that comes through, they all remember it in some way," she said.
