International Rugby Matches Scheduled at Milton's Brooks Field

The Boston Rugby Club and the Boston Rugby Under 19 team will host teams from Northern Ireland and England at the Milton High field.

High-level rugby will return to Brooks Field at this month with matches from the Boston Rugby Club and the Boston Rugby Under 19 team hosting a pair of international opponents.

Milton resident Joe Dolan, the coach of the Milton High Rugby Club and an active player for the Boston Rugby Club, helped organize the two match-ups.

The Boston Rugby Club, which is a member of the USA Rugby Super League, will play on August 18 at 6 p.m. The Boston Rugby Club will face the Dungannon Rugby Club from Ulster, Northern Ireland.

According to Dolan, the game will be a collision of two top programs.

“Dungannon is a perennial powerhouse in Division 1 Irish Rugby, while Boston is ranked No. 3 in the USA Rugby Super League standings, the country's premier division,” Dolan said in an email.

Admission to the game will be $5 for adults and free for students.

The Boston Rugby Under 19 team will host the Duke of York School from Kent, England on Tuesday, August 23 at 6 p.m.  Admission for this match is free.

The Boston Club consists of players from Milton, Brookline, Xaverian, St Johns Prep and BC High.
