Meet The Richest Person In Massachusetts
She's also one of the most powerful women in the world.

The richest person in Massachusetts must have been pinching pennies - she's just a little bit richer this year. Fidelity Investments Chairman, President and CEO Abigail Johnson has once again been named the Bay State's wealthiest person, a title she is getting pretty used to.
Johnson, a Milton resident, has a net worth of $14.9 billion, according to a recently released Forbes list. That's up from $14.7 billion last year and a paltry $13.4 billion in 2015. She is one of 11 billionaires living in Massachusetts, Forbes said, and one of 565 across the country. (For the record, none of them work at Patch.)

Johnson, 55, is the granddaughter of Fidelity founder Edward C. Johnson II. She took the chairman position from her retiring father in November. She graduated from Hobart and William Smith and Harvard.
Johnson is often considered one of the richest and most powerful women in the world, being named the most powerful woman on Wall Street last year. Fidelity holds more than $2 trillion in assets and handles retirements and savings for about 25 million Americans, Forbes said.
