Milton Art Center: An All-Ages Art Hub
The Milton Art Center offers classes and art activities in the former East Milton Library.
The Milton Art Center officially opened its doors to the public last month with a well-attended Grand Opening event.
The former East Milton Library on Edge Hill Road now offers a long list of art classes for all ages, a gallery and space for children’s parties.
“Basically, It’s a flexible space we can do a lot with,” said Kevin Dambruch, a member of the MAC board.

The idea for the new art center began when the Board of Selectmen started looking for a group to rent the former library space. When the town sought proposals to rent or buy the property, FAVA (Friends and Advocates for Visual Arts), an organization that has taught after school art programs in the Milton Public Schools since 2003, was the lone proposal.
“I’m very happy that the town continues to own this building,” Board of Selecetmen Chair Robert Sweeney said at the grand opening.

The Milton Art Center now allows Milton art advocates to expand immensely on FAVA’s original mission. Dambruch pointed out that while FAVA’s focus was on children’s art, the Milton Art Center offers classes for all ages, abilities and interests.
“I think it’s great when you can have an art center that can offer classes for kids and adults, alike,” Sweeney said.
The space, which was renovated recently, offers a lot of options for classes and gallery space.
The current class list includes a wide range of traditional art classes, like pastels, and more specialized courses like storytelling and creating a DVD slide show.
While the Milton Art Center has a range of classes available, they are still open to other teachers and artists to offer courses at the facility.
“If someone has an idea, we’ll put it out there,” Dambruch said.
Patrons can register for classes at miltonartcenter.org and pay using a credit card online. The website also offers a class registration form, which can be printed out. Payment can be made in the form of a check at the first class.
