Milton Mustang Freshmen
Last Saturday's game was a rematch with the West Quincy Elks, but the competition quickly became the field conditions. Heavy rains the night before left the field muddy and slippery. Both teams moved the ball in the first half, but neither put the ball in the endzone.

The second half started with a bang for the Mustangs, with one particular sequence of plays, a toss to the tailback, a reverse to the Z back, and ultimately a square out pass to the tight end, which put six points on the scoreboard.
Late in the game, the Elks drove the ball deep into Mustang territory. However, an open field tackle by the Mustang cornerback saved a touchdown, and secured the victory.

Milton Mustang Varsity
The Milton Mustang Varsity team approached last Sunday’s game against the West Quincy Elks looking to avenge their only loss of the season. The game proved to be just as exciting and down to the wire as the first meeting. The teams started out very evenly matched with a scoreless first quarter.
Early in the second quarter the Elks put together some solid running plays for a touchdown, but came up short on the extra point. As the time ticked down to the half, the Mustangs battled back with a break away 88-yard run to tie up the game. Unlike the Elks, the Mustangs complete the extra point to take the lead going into the half, 7-6.
The second half came down to ball control and clock management. The Elks had possession of the ball for more minutes in the second half, but penalties and turnovers caused by a ferocious Mustang defense kept them from scoring again. The Mustangs held on to hand the Elks their first loss of the season.
