Last Sunday’s win against the Quincy Point Panthers put the Mustangs at 6-1 for the season. The 24-6 win for the Mustangs emerged out of a diverse set of plays that allowed a variety of ball carriers to continue to move the ball and put points on the board. In the end, the Quincy Point Panthers struggled to contain the Mustang offense as the clock ran out on the regular season.

The Mustang JV team put up a solid balanced attack this past weekend against the Quincy Point Panthers. The Mustangs were able to score four touchdowns, two from the passing game and two on the ground, making the Mustang offense difficult to contain. Although, the Panthers were able to pull together enough plays to score twice the Mustang defense was formidable in shutting down all other attempts.
Milton Mustangs Freshman Team
Last Saturday, the Milton Mustang Freshman traveled to Quincy Point to take on the Panthers, in what turned out to be a battle of the defenses. The Mustang offense moved the ball well, but the Panthers did a nice job responding, slowing the Mustangs down on outside runs, and making it difficult to pass the ball. The Mustang defense was equally impressive, shutting down the Panther passing game, and limiting them to only a few first downs with the running game. The game remained scoreless well into the second half.
Late in the game, the Panthers recovered a fumble, had a breakaway run, and appeared likely to score. However, in one of the most impressive plays of the season, a member of the Mustangs offense came from the opposite side of the field to to tackle the Panther runner at the two-yard line, saving a touchdown. The Mustang defense then held the line, not only keeping the Panthers out of the end zone, but pushing them back ten yards, as the defensive line made a tackle in the backfield. The game ended in a scoreless tie, but will stand as one of the best games of the season.
