Police Log: Fallen Tree Limb Sets off Hydrant

This is an excerpt from the Milton Police Log from Thursday, July 15.

  • At 3:17 a.m. Thursday, multiple callers reported youths being loud on Norman Street. Officers transported several Milton youths to their homes and two Quincy youths to the Milton/Quincy line. Peace was restored.
  • At 10:04 a.m. Thursday, a detail officer was flagged down by a passerby who reported smoke coming from the Dependable Cleaners on Granite Avenue. The fire department was notified and reported finding steam coming from the location.
  • At 4:27 p.m. Thursday, a caller reported a tree limb had fallen on a fire hydrant and the hydrant was spraying water. The fire department and department of public works were notified. The fire department was able to shut off the water.
  • At 5:22 p.m. Thursday, a caller on Longmeadow Road reported an unknown person in her garage. The responding officer reported the suspicious person was the caller's little brother, who was locked out of the house.
