Buildings To Be Demolished At Natick St. Patrick's Development
Demolition on several buildings at the site will begin in early September, according to the developer.

NATICK, MA — Some notable changes are coming after Labor Day to the St. Patrick's redevelopment in downtown Natick.
The developer, Stonegate Group, recently received a demolition permit from the town. Following the holiday weekend, construction crews will begin tearing down a former funeral home and a two-story house at the site, which are both located along Lincoln Street.
The school and the convent will not be torn down right now, the developer has said. Original plans called for a mixed-use development at the site, but those may be changed due to the coronavirus-related delay of spring Town Meeting, where members were to decide on a zone change in the downtown area.

The school and convent were the site of a small fire several weeks ago where a Natick firefighter was injured. Police found evidence of other vandalism inside the buildings, and the site has since been boarded-up for security.
Correction: An earlier version of this story incorrectly stated the former St. Patrick's school building would be incorporated into the new development.
