ICYMI: Natick Couple Seeks Owner, Dog After Attack of Their Dog at Cape

NATICK, MA—A Natick couple is searching for a dog and its owner after they say the dog attacked their Jack Russell terrier on a beach in Cape Cod.

Ranger, a 12-year-old terrier, was walking with Diane and Shaun Sibley of Natick on July 21 on Craigsville Beach in Centerville when a large yellow dog exchanged growls with their dog, reports the Cape Cod Times. A woman was walking the yellow dog, and after they had passed, they heard the woman scream that her dog was charging toward Ranger.

Ranger squealed and then made no noise, with Shaun pulling the dog off of Ranger, who had a gash in his neck. The dog's jugular vein had been severed and was spurting blood. They rushed him to Barnstable Animal Hospital, and quickly referred to specialists. Ranger spent three nights at Cape Cod Veterinary Specialists, where he was treated. He has recovered, after a $6,000 bill. The Sibleys are concerned that the dog that attacked theirs is "vicious" and is searching for the owner.
