2-day Songwriting and Recording Workshop

In conjunction with each benefit concert we produce, Plugged In offers a 2-Day Songwriting and Recording Workshop. The 2-Day Songwriting and Recording Workshop is open to all Plugged In students as well as any youth ages 8-19 who are not in Plugged In. Musical experience is not required.
During this workshop students learn songwriting techniques from professional songwriters and how to write, perform and record an original song. Participants will also learn about the organization being honored at Plugged In’s next benefit concert.
On the first day of the workshop, a representative from the benefiting charity will talk with the students about their work. We hope that by acquiring a deeper understanding of the cause, students will be inspired to write songs that embody Plugged In’s value of giving back to the community. However, students are not limited to writing about the charity and can write a song about any topic they choose.
On the second day, we record the students performing their original songs and create tracks of these performances. These tracks will then be sold online to raise additional funds for the benefiting charity. Students also perform their original songs at the next benefit concert!
