A Rundown of Tuesday’s Contested Races
Tuesday's ballot features much competition in the way of State Representative, Congressman and State Auditor.
Voters taking to the polls in Needham on Sept. 14 will find a host of choices on both the Democrat and Republican sides. Races that contain competition from both parties include the races for State Auditor, Representative in Congress 9th District and State Representative in the 13th Norfolk District.
The most local race, with its five Needham candidates, is the one for State Rep. On the Democratic side are Jerry Wasserman, Denise Garlick and Gary McNeill, while Republicans have a choice between Joshua Levy and John O'Leary, all of which you can read more about at this link.
Mac D'Alessandro and Stephen Lynch have stepped up their war of the words of late, but only one can be chosen during the Congressional Democratic primary. Meanwhile, Keith Lepor and Vernon Harrison find themselves facing off on the Republican ticket.

The final race that finds competition on both sides of the aisle is that of State Auditor. Mary Connaughton of Framingham and Kamal Jain of Lowell represent the Republican choices, while Democrats can select Suzanne Bump of Great Barrington, Guy William Glodis of Auburn or Mike Lake of Boston.
In the remainder of contested races on the Democrats' side, Kelly Timilty and Robert Jubinville vie for Councilor Second District, and Michael Chinman, Joseph Driscoll Jr. and Michael Morrissey look to become District Attorney of the Norfolk District.

On the Republican ticket, meanwhile, there are no other contested races.
