Aly Raisman Takes Silver in Olympic Gymnastics Individual Final
The Needham native took home another medal Thursday afternoon.
Aly Raisman has more hardware to bring home.
The Needham gymnast took second place in the individual competition at the 2016 Rio Olympic games. Event favorite and Raisman's teammate Simone Biles took the gold with an impressive 62.198 points.
Raisman was well in the mix for a medal after two events, but a 14.866 on the balance beam made it a question of not if she would get a medal but which one she would receive. Entering the floor exercise, Raisman was less than .1 point behind Russia's Mustafina Aliya for the silver medal. Another near-flawless performance by the 2012 floor exercise gold medalist resulted in a score of 15.433 and another medal.
