Copper Wire Theft, Plow Crash: Needham Police Log

January 3
9:01 a.m. - An officer responded to Brookside Road for a motor vehicle crash. The vehicle had crashed into a utility pole. The operator had a wrist injury. She stated that she slid on the snow when a vehicle in front of her stopped short. The operator was transported to Beth Israel Deaconess Needham by Needham Fire. The vehicle was towed.
12:32 p.m. - An officer responded to a Central Avenue business for a report of a disturbance over separation of recycled goods. The incident will be resolved through legal process.

7:22 p.m. - An officer observed a vehicle parked obstructing a fire hydrant in Needham Heights. A check of the vehicle's registration plates showed that it was revoked for insurance cancellation. Following a motor vehicle stop and a brief investigation the registered owner, a 25-year-old Needham man, was summoned to court for operating a motor vehicle with a revoked registration and uninsured operation of a motor vehicle.

January 4
An officer was dispatched to Newell Road for the report of a two car crash involving a plow truck.
January 5
1:00 p.m. - An officer was dispatched to a Kendrick Street address on report of coils of copper wiring had been cut from 10 separate electrical boxes.
