Direct Federal Credit Union offers free First Time Home Buyer Seminar April 6

NEEDHAM, MA, ISSUED MARCH 10, 2016…Direct Federal Credit Union (www.direct.com) will host a free First Time Home Buyer educational seminar Wednesday, April 6, from 7 to 9 p.m. at their Needham office, 50 Cabot Street.

The seminar will provide first-time homebuyers with valuable information they need to start the process. The seminar will include:

· Overview of the home-buying process

· The attorney’s role

· Why your credit score matters

· The appraiser’s role

· The advantages and disadvantages of PMI

The seminar will include six experts from the community, including Jean Barreta, of New England Real Estate Academy; Attorney Matthew Killeen; Dawn Janovsky of Janovsky Appraisers; and Dana Cunningham-Maciel, of the credit bureau Experian. Additionally, Direct Federal Credit Union will have two of its mortgage specialists as part of the panel, including Ed Harrington and Al Zuckerman. Direct Federal will have additional staff on site to answer any questions about the mortgage process.

Other benefits to attendees include the opportunity for a free pre-approval for a mortgage, as well as a voucher worth $350 toward any closing costs. There will be a drawing for a $300 Visa gift card.
