Ellie Bloom Special Olympics hosted by the Charles River Center planned for September 19, 2015

The 27th annual Ellie Bloom Special Olympics will be held on Saturday, September 19th at 10am at DeFazio Park in Needham.  This fun and inspiring event welcomes athletes of all ages and abilities to participate in track and field events such as running and wheelchair dashes, basketball throws, relay races, and ladderball.  Every event is modified so that all who attempt to participate will be successful.

This is the first year we will be partnering with the Special Olympics.  Athletes will receive a free t-shirt sponsored by the Needham Golf Club Charities, and lunch will be provided by Roche Bros. and served by the Needham Women’s Club.  The event is name after Ellie Bloom, a long-time employee and supporter of the Charles River Center.
