New Police Chief to be Sworn in at Tuesday Selectmen's Meeting

The Needham Board of Selectmen will swear in new police chief Philip E. Droney at their meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 27.

Droney is being promoted from lieutenant and will replace retiring Needham Police Chief Thomas Leary.

Also on Tuesday, the board will discuss zoning changes proposed for the Nov. 7 special Town Meeting and hold a public hearing on whether Needham should adopt the Stretch Energy Code to become a Massachusetts-designated Green Community at their 

The meeting will be held at the Public Services Administration Building, 500 Dedham Ave. Citizens are invited to attend an informal session from 6:45-7:00 p.m. to discuss any issues of concern with regular business to begin at 7:00 p.m.
