Family Dog Alerts Needham Home of 3-Alarm Fire
The Needham Fire Department responded to a blaze early Tuesday morning.

Needham, MA — If it wasn't for the family dog, an early Tuesday morning fire could have been a lot worse for a local family.
At 4:12 a.m. firefighters in Needham responded to a 3-alarm fire at 11 Allindale Rd. Firefighters say that they were able to get all the occupants of the house out of safely and it was a family dog that notified the home's residents of the fire.

One firefighter was injured at the scene and taken to the hospital, according to WHDH.
The family has been displaced by the fire and is be assisted by Needham Health Department, American Red Cross and the Marriott Residence Inn in Needham, according to the Needham Fire Department.

Fire departments from Boston, Brookline, Dedham, Newton, Wellesley, and Westwood provided mutual aid. Boston Sparks A-10 proved rehab.
There is no word on the cause.
