Four Needham Rockets Earn Boston Globe All-Scholastic Honors
The list includes basketball player of the year Thomas Shaughnessy.

NEEDHAM, MA — Four Needham Rockets have been named among the best high school athletes in the area.
Thomas Shaughnessy of the boys basketball team, John Higgins of the boys swimming and diving team, Gracie Bruno of the girls hockey team, and Elizabeth Hernberg were named to the Boston Globe All-Scholastic team.
Shaughnessy, one of five players of the year, helped lead the Rockets to their first sectional title and averaged 23 points per game. He was named the Bay State Conference MVP.

Higgins won the 100 breaststroke at the Division 1 state meet in 58.15 and was a part of the third-place finishing 200 medley relay squad.
Bruno, a sophomore, earned 24 goals and 38 assists this season, ending the year with 109 career points.

Hernberg earned Bay State Conference co-MVP honors and picked up 45 goals and 25 assists.
