Garlick House Rally Attracts 100, Say Campaign Organizers

State Rep. candidate Denise Garlick held a "Home Stretch Rally" on Aug. 29.

Selectman Dan Matthews was among those who took to the home of Sandy and Doug Robinson for Denise Garlick's "Home Stretch Rally" on Aug. 29.

"To me, she has the experience, the work ethic and the temperament to go to Beacon Hill," Matthews said of Garlick in a statement. "She can work with people with different points of view, she can forge workable solutions and never give up on her principles in the process."

Democrat Garlick is running for State Representative against Gary McNeill and fellow Selectman Jerry Wasserman in the primary on Sept. 14. On the Republican side, John O'Leary and Joshua Levy are squaring off. All five candidates are from Needham.

Nearly 100 supporters attended Sunday's rally, according to Garlick's camp.

Rally co-host Doug Robinson introduced Garlick to supporters by saying, "For everyone that has wanted to help, this is the time. It's important we get out and let our friends, our family and our neighbors know that this is the moment to get involved."
