Getting ready for your next Obstacle Race event.

This article will tell you a little bit of where and how to train for your next Obstacle Course Race.

Whether your a long time Obstacle Course racer, weekend warrior, or your favorite coworker just signed you up on the company team everyone needs a place to train. It's true going to the gym and doing functional work outs can help you build strength for these types of events. It's also true running trails and hills can help improve your cardio as well as get you use to running on uneven surfaces. Some indoor gyms now offer some cargo nets or walls to climb but lets face it nothing beats actually performing the same task on the same surfaces in the same elements as your next Spartan or tough mudder. With this in mind I started Eagle Obstacles a year ago in Dedham. Located on the grounds of the MIT Endicott House at 80 Haven st . Eagle Obstacles is a course where beginners can come learn techniques to survive a race and elites can come to advance their pace at them. I run events for the public for walk ins most Wednesday evening from 4 to 7:30pm and most Saturday morning 9am to 12pm. The course has over 30 Obstacles spread through out the woods just like you'd experience at a race. You can run through the course in order or just walk out to a particular obstacle and practice your technique on it. You can see pictures and videos of the course on our facebook page OCR Eagle Obstacles.
