Grab your boa and get ready to enjoy an exhilarating (that’s fancy for exciting!) theatrical experience at Boston Children’s Theatre’s (BCT) production of FANCY NANCY THE MUSICAL featuring 14-year old Jessica Lewis of Needham. FANCY NANCY THE MUSICAL runs February 18 – 28 at The Regent Theatre, 7 Medford Street, Arlington, MA.
Cast as Nancy’s best friend ‘Bree,’ Jessica is no stranger to the Boston-area stage. She has performed with North Shore Music Theatre as ‘Duffy’ in Annie, with Fiddlehead Theatre at The Strand in A Little Princess, and with Needham Community Theatre as ‘Amber’ in Hairspray. Other favorite credits include Seussical with ACT, Urinetown with Weston Drama Workshop, Rapunzel, Sleeping Beauty, and Riding Hood with Fringe Theatre and ‘Annie’ in Annie at Riverside Theatre Works. Jessica is a freshman at Cambridge School of Weston.
“In a season dedicated to bringing many of our generation’s most popular and beloved books to the stage, Fancy Nancy is at the top of the charts,” revealed BCT Executive Director Toby Schine, who is also directing the production. “At Boston Children’s Theatre, we cherish the opportunity to build on our audience’s love of reading by creating their favorite characters on stage. Fancy Nancy is fun, high-spirited, entertaining and engaging- everything theater and literature should be. We hope it’s a theatrical experience even our youngest audience members will remember for a lifetime.”

Based on the wildly popular books by Jane O’Connor, FANCY NANCY THE MUSICAL features Nancy and her friends as they perform in their very first stage show. Nancy is absolutely positive (that’s fancy for 100% sure) that she and her best friend Bree will be cast as mermaids. What happens when Nancy is given the part of a dull, brown tree? How will Nancy bring her fancy flair to the role? With life lessons to learn in a fun, creative way, FANCY NANCY THE MUSICAL promises to be a smashing success (that’s fancy for a big hit)!
FANCY NANCY THE MUSICAL features a book and lyrics by Susan DiLallo and music and lyrics by Danny Aboschm. The production is directed by Toby Schine, with Eric William Love as Associate Director and Choreographer and Chris Cho as Musical Director.
