Needham Girls Lax Advance to D1 South Finals, Baseball Heads to Semi-Finals
It was a successful day for two Needham sports teams.
It may have taken a day longer than expected, but the Needham Rockets are going to the MIAA Division 1 South semifinals.
After a rain delay, the Rockets beat Bridgewater-Raynham 3-2. They will play Walpole at Braintree High School on June 9.

Tuesday, an RBI single by Max Curran in the top of the ninth inning gave Needham a one-run lead, but a weather delay due to a thunderstorm moved the bottom of the ninth to Wednesday afternoon.

The game resumed with no outs and a man on base. Two fly balls and a grounder later, the Rockets had ended the game.
Needham improves to 13-9 with the win.

In the evening, the Rockets continued their winning ways, with the girls' lacrosse team picking up a 10-9 overtime win against Notre Dame Academy of Hingham.

Going into overtime tied 9-9, it was Caroline Wash driving from midfield and nailing the game winner.
Next up for the girls' lacrosse team is Westwood for the South title. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m. on June 10.
