The Rockets pulled it off, with the Needham High School boys soccer team beating Amherst-Pelham Regional 4-1 to win the Division 1 title, reported several outlets, including ESPN Boston.
Josh Perry Tweeted that it is the second title for the boys in three seasons.
ESPN called the season’s final game a “storybook ending to is unbeaten season,” indicating that the team’s head coach Don Brock was in the hospital and awaited the call of the results. Needham got out front with the lead during the fifth minute of the game and never lost it.
