Needham DAR Honors Veterans on Nov 15th at Historical Society

Program will feature Sean Horgan speaking about Team Rubicon; great way to thank a Veteran!

The Col. William McIntosh Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution will host a program honoring Vietnam era veterans at the Needham Historical Society at 2pm on November 15th. This meeting is free and open to the public and refreshments will be served. Veterans or their families should contact Carol Boulris (gmacarol203@aol.com or 781.444.4028) so that certificates can be prepared to present at the meeting.

The featured speaker is Sean Horgan (pictured) of Team Rubicon (http://www.teamrubiconusa.org/story-of-team-rubicon/). Sean led Team Rubicon’s development in New England, serving as the first Regional Administrator where he grew an all-volunteer team to over 1000 members. He helped lead the creation of the Greater Boston Veterans Collaborative, which unites the efforts of veteran service organizations, where he currently represents Team Rubicon.

Sean was born in Ireland and enlisted in the Marines shortly after becoming a US resident. He served everywhere from the Arctic Circle to a tour in Fallujah Iraq, where he led a rifle platoon of 44 Marines. Sean attended the University of Massachusetts at Amherst where he received a B.S. in Computer Science (cum laude) and has built SMS notifications systems and large-scale analytics platforms. During H1N1 he developed an application that allowed health departments to monitor vaccine distribution in real-time. He now is the Head of Product for Firecracker, which helps medical students prepare for their classes, rotations, and board exams.
