Needham Girls' Lax, Boys' Tennis Earn High Tournament Seeds

Many MIAA tournaments are scheduled to start this week.

NEEDHAM, MA - It's going to be a busy few weeks for Needham High School athletics.

MIAA tournament pairings are starting to come out and the Rockets are set to start the postseason with high expectations.

In lacrosse, the seventh-ranked boys' team will face No. 10 Duxbury on June 3 at 7 p.m. at Needham High School. The Rockets finished the season 11-7 while the Dragons were 9-7. In the girls' bracket, the second-ranked 18-2 Rockets have a bye into the quarterfinals and await the winner of No. 7 Marshfield vs No. 10 Nauset. The girls' lacrosse team's first game is scheduled to take place at Needham High School on June 3 at 4:30 p.m.

Both teams will compete in the MIAA Division 1 South tournament.

In tennis, both the boys and girls will compete in the Division 1 South tournaments. The 16-1 boys have earned the second seed and will face No. 15 Framingham on June 4 at 3 p.m. The 12th-seeded 10-6 girls will host No. 21 Natick on June 3 at 4 p.m.

In baseball, the 11th-ranked Rockets kick off tournament play at No. 6 Plymouth South on June 2 at 4 p.m.
