Needham Lacrosse Player Showcases Skills at Game to Benefit Wounded Warrior Project

Needham High School graduate Matt Hecker participated in the game.

A member of the Needham Rockets lacrosse squad participated in a recent All-American game to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project, according to BostonLax.net.

Defenseman Matt Hecker was one of several top players in the area who descended upon Harvard University to partake in the contest on July 8.

Hecker scored a goal to help his team overcome the Wounded Warrior Team, 25-18.

Hecker was named Bay State Conference MVP and earned All-American honors as a senior at Needham High School. He’ll be playing for Weleyan University in come September.

Navy SEAL Hardy Allen, a Hingham High School alum and former lacrosse player, delivered a moving opening speech to all of the players in attendance.

All of the proceeds from the All-American game went directly to Wounded Warrior Project.
