Needham Native Aly Raisman Excited About Possible Boston 2024

Raisman hopes her younger teammates can represent the U.S. in Boston.

U.S. Olympic Gold Medalist and Needham native, Aly Raisman, is excited about the potential for Boston’s young athletes to compete in the 2024 Summer Olympic Games.

Boston beat out Los Angeles, San Francisco and Washington D.C., to become the next American city to bid for host of the games. Paris, Rome and Hamburg are among the other cities with Olympic bids.

Raisman feels Boston would be an ideal spot for the Olympics due the supportive and caring nature of the sports fans in the city.

“Here in my gym we have a bunch of young girls training for the 2024 Olympics, so I know how much they would absolutely love to be able to compete here in Boston at their home. I imagine my little teammates competing at the 2024 Olympics and me in the stands watching, screaming and cheering for them,” Raisman said in a Boston 2024 video posted on Twitter.
