
Several Needham athletes added honors to their resumes this week with the announcement of the Boston Globe All-Scholastics.
Senior Kayla Steeves, a midfielder, earned All-American honors to close out her high school career on the soccer field. She also earned Bay State Conference MVP honoros to go with her four years of EMass all-star honors. Over her career she had 16 goals and 20 assists.
Over in boys soccer, senior Aram Ouligian earned Player of the Year honors to go with his All-American honors. He helped his team to a 2012 state title and and three straight years of conference titles. His teammate Jason Miller served as captain for the team and amassed 10 goals and 11 assists.

And cross-country runner earned honors as well. Needham junior Sarah Armstrong finished fourth at the EMass Division 2 meet and helped her team win the Division 1 All State title with a sixth-place finish. She also set a course record at the Amherst Invitational.
Cross country teammate and fellow junior Margie Cullen also earned Globe All-Scholastic recognition. She finished third at the Division 1 All State meet and at the EMass Division 2 meet. Cullen also earned Bay State Conference MVP honors.

Not to be outdone, field hockey has an honoree as well. Junior Allie Brinkhaus was the Bay State Carey MVP this year and had 22 goals to go with her eight assists. Over her career, she had 49 goals and 20 assists.
