Needham Police Log: Speeding Moped, Sleeping Woman, and More

March 18

10:30 A.M. - Officers were dispatched to Starbucks for a report of a female party asleep in her car with an open bottle of alcohol. The woman, a 20-year-old from Stoughton, will be charged with minor in possession of alcohol and summonsed to Dedham District Court.

11:00 p.m. - An officer stopped a moped on Dedham Avenue for speeding. The officer determined that the operator, a 29-year-old Boston male, had a revoked license. Police will seek charges against the operator for operating with a revoked license and speeding. A friend picked up the operator and the moped.

March 19

6:30 a.m. - An elderly male party was parked at Domino's Pizza parking lot. When an officer arrived to speak with the elderly male, he believed he was in Newton. The elderly male was confused and disoriented. Officers secured the motor vehicle and assisted the male party home. An Immediate threat was filed with the RMV.

11:00 p.m. - Police responded to a Harris Avenue address for an alarm. While conducting a check of the building, an open window was located. The building was cleared and secured. The matter is still under investigation.
