Needham Residents Win Awards at Rivers School Prize Day

Needham residents Emma DuBois and Derek Wang both received awards during The Rivers School's Prize Day ceremony on Thursday, June 11.

WESTON, MA – Needham residents Emma DuBois and Derek Wang both received awards during The Rivers School’s Prize Day ceremony on Thursday, June 11.

Emma won the Kenneth F. Benjamin Citizenship Award, given in memory of a member of Rivers' class of 1950 who was a Rivers parent, grandparent, and life trustee. It is awarded to those students in Grade 9 who, like Mr. Benjamin, lead by example, give selflessly to others, and embody The Rivers School's Core Values of integrity and perseverance. Emma is the daughter of Jon and Heidi DuBois.

Derek received The Harvard Club Prize, awarded annually to the student in the junior class who, by virtue of character, scholastic excellence, and achievement in athletics or other extracurricular activity, best exemplifies the traditional ideal of American citizenship. Derek is the son of Ziqiang Wang and Ziying Liu.
