Coats for Kids is New England’s largest coat drive, with school groups making up one half of all collections; over 848,000 coats since the program began, and 52,621 coats donated in 2013 alone.
Coats for Kids accepting warm winter coats that are gently used, good quality, and all sizes are needed (especially XL and pre-K sizes). The drive does not accept coats with rips, tears, broken zippers, or permanent stains, nor can we accept sweatshirts, vests and spring coats.
“My partners—Jennifer Wolfsberg and John Wolfsberg—and I are pleased to invite our employees, our clients, and the community to join us in donating coats this winter as a simple but powerful way for us to give back this holiday season,” said Richard Greene, Managing Principal of Centerpoint Advisors. “All year, we strive to empower our clients with financial knowledge, and we are fortunate to be able to rally our Centerpoint team and clients to help provide comfort and warmth to those in need. As a long-time Anton’s customer, I’ve enjoyed watching ‘Coats for Kids’ expand to serve thousands of individuals in need, and we are proud to be part of this worthy program.”
Participating companies and organizations collect good quality, warm winter coats and then bring them to any of Anton’s Cleaners’ 42 locations (including the three Westford stores located at 439 Littleton Rd., 64 Brookside Rd. and 174 Littleton Rd.) or one of the five Jordan’s Furniture stores. Once collected and cleaned, coats are distributed free of charge through the Distribution Partner network.
According to Arthur C. Anton Jr., COO of Anton’s Cleaners, “’Coats for Kids’ offers an incredible opportunity for caring local businesses like Centerpoint Advisors to get involved in an activity that benefits those in need. Anton’s Cleaners is always on the lookout for ways to collaborate with local businesses and organizations to make winter a little warmer for children, teens and adults throughout Eastern Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire.”
Last year’s drive collected 52,000 coats, with Anton’s donating over $10M in cleaning services since the program’s inception. Promotional partners for the 2013-2014 “Coats for Kids” collection include Anton’s Cleaners, Jordan’s Furniture, KISS 108, Wicked Local, Fox 25 Boston, Jam’n 94.5 and 101.7 The Bull.
