Raisman to Captain US Gymnastics Team
The Needham native will captain her second team in a row.

NEEDAM, MA — Needham resident Aly Raisman will captain the U.S. gymnastics team when they head to Rio next month.
Saturday, USA Gymnastics announced that Raisman will lead the five-woman team for a second-straight Olympics.

Raisman surprised the gymnastic world with a second attempt at Olympic glory at the age of 22. At this year's U.S. Championship, she took second place in the all-around, balance beam, and floor exercises. In 2012, Raisman won gold medals in the team competition and floor exercise.
The 2016 Olympics start on Aug. 5 with the opening ceremonies.
