Selectmen Approve License For New Gas Station
The selectmen granted the BJ's gas station to be located at 1412-1420 Boston Providence Turnpike a VIF license.

NORWOOD, MA — A new gas station on Route 1 has permission to store the fliud on site.
The selectmen granted the BJ’s gas station to be located at 1412-1420 Boston Providence Turnpike a VIF license to store 64,000 gallons of regular, premium and diesel gas underground and 200 gallons above ground. The site is located at the corner of Route 1 and Sumner Street and former was home to an office building.
Board members were mostly curious about the issue of nearby wetlands. BJ’s officials said they were about 200 feet away from the area and would comply with all local, state, and federal regulations.

The three-acre site will be split into two to allow the tenants more control over their areas. A Wendy’s is planned for the second area.
The project received two special permits from the planning board last year.
