St. Joes/Monsignor Haddad Middle School Gingerbread House Event Builds Christmas Cheer

St. Joe's Elementary families aided by Monsignor Haddad Middle School volunteers build Christmas cheer with gingerbread houses

Over 200 children and their families came together in the St. Joseph Elementary School gym this morning in the Parent School Association (PSA) community event to share some Christmas spirit and build gingerbread houses. Not a space was to be spared as parents, children, and even grandparents came together to create these festive confections. Monsignor Haddad Middle School students were on hand as well to help little hands with their designs and keep the event running smoothly. Children were even treated to a visit from a special guest from the North Pole!

The Christmas cheer built today will go beyond the homes of Needham and 20 surrounding towns that make up the student body of St. Joe's Elementary and Monsignor Haddad Middle School. Extra gingerbread house kits are being delivered to Children's Hospital this week for oncology patients in isolation. These children often miss out on crafts and other fun activities but will be able to decorate their own gingerbread houses in their rooms.

"We are excited that not only could we have a wonderful community outreach event but a great way to spread the spirit of the season!" shared parent c0-chair, Christine Maus.
