Steering, Solar Glare May Have Caused Needham Crash

Police and fire responded to a crash near near the intersection of Great Plain and Greendale Avenues Tuesday morning.

NEEDHAM, MA — The cause for Tuesday's rollover Greendale Avenue is under investigation, but the Needham Police Department has an idea of what might have caused it.

At about 7:30 a.m., police and fire responded to a crash near near the intersection of Great Plain and Greendale Avenues. Needham fire says the driver flipped the car after clipping the side of a parked car.

The jaws of life were used at the scene, Needham fire said.

The operator was transported to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston by Needham Fire.

The road was closed briefly while the vehicle was set upright and removed from the scene.

Needham Police Lieutenant Chris Baker told the Needham Times that the cause is unconfirmed but the driver told police that there were issues with the steering wheel and solar glare may have been a factor.
