2nd Teen In Fatal Needham Crash Dies

Two people have died following Saturday's crash near Needham High School.

NEEDHAM, MA — Saturday's car crash near Needham High School has taken the life of two Needham teenagers.

Officers responded to a reported crash at the intersection of Webster and Holland streets in Needham at about 5 p.m. Police at the scene located two pedestrians with significant injuries. One of the victims, 16-year-old Talia Newfield, died at the hospital. A second victim, 17-year-old Adrienne Garrido, was taken hospital with significant injuries and died Sunday, according to the Norfolk County District Attorney's office.

Morrissey said Sunday morning that the driver did stop and they are looking at multiple drivers. He did not say if investigators are looking at multiple cars.

No charges have been filed. The crash remains under investigation, the DA's office said.

Grief counselors were at the high school until 12:30 p.m. Sunday and additional support will be available throughout the week, according to Superintendent Daniel Gutekanst.

The town's youth and family services department announced Sunday night that they will hold extend evening hours through 7 p.m. on Feb. 12 and 13 to support any community member that has been impacted by the events of the weekend.
