Town Announces Need for Norfolk County Advisory Board Rep.
Letters of interest are due by July 2.
The Town of Needham announced today that a representative is sought for the Norfolk County Advisory Board.
Based on High Street in Dedham, the Advisory Board considers budget, capital planning and other affairs as they pertain to various towns in the area. According to the Town of Needham website, the "principal responsibilities of the Advisory Board are review and approval of County budgets and appropriations."
28 communities are represented in the Advisory Board, according to County Director Dan Matthews. A representative is the "ratifying authority for the County operating budget," he explained.

Needham is currently in need of a new representative to serve the community and interested parties have until July 2 to file a letter of interest. Applicants need not have prior experience serving on such a board, but, "They should be a resident of the town," said Assistant to the Needham Town Manager Sandy Cincotta.
Matthews noted that Advisory Board members often have experience as a selectman or municipal councilor, "but that is not a requirement," he said. "Interest in the work and availability to attend scheduled meetings are important, and local government experience is helpful."
